The Pro-Tect scaffold wrap containment process is fairly simple with the proper equipment and material.  We specialize in the sale and installation of 9, 10.5 and 12 mil flame resistant (certified to N.F.P.A. 701, large and small scale tests), thermo polyethylene shrink scaffold wrap with UVI for longevity.  This scaffold wrap is used extensively in Pro-Tect’s design and installation of environmental containments which meet the requirements of SSPC Guide 61 Class 1 and Class 2.  A framework, such as scaffolding along with our special hi-tensile strength strapping and specially formulated tapes are required to install the shrink wrap containment.  Once the material is in place, the process of shrinking the wrap is accomplished by using the Shrinkfast 998 (UL listed) propane fired heat gun.  The hot air produced by the heat gun is used to heat seam and seal the scaffold sheeting of thermo poly film together thereby forming a large impermeable barrier around the rigid or semi-rigid framework upon which it is installed.  The wrapping film is then shrank up to 30% to form a tough, tight weather proof barrier which will virtually contain 100% of sandblast, paint, lead or asbestos residuals, dust and debris
